Your Rights for Mental Health Services: 

Every person who receives public mental health services has certain rights. The Michigan Mental Health Code protects your rights. Fore more information about your rights please contact our agency to request a copy of  the “Know Your Rights” booklet. Recipients Rights information is also available in other languages and formats. You may file a Recipient Rights complaint any time if you think staff violated your rights. You can make a rights complaint either orally or in writing. A complaint form is available at the bottom of this webpage, at all service sites, upon request through our Recipient Rights Officer, and upon request through our Customer Service department.

Your Rights for Substance Use Disorder Services:

If you receive substance use disorder services, you have rights protected by the Public Health Code. These rights will also be explained to you when you start services and then once again every year. You can find more information about your rights while getting substance use disorder services by taking a look at the “Know Your Rights” booklet or by clicking on the links below. You may file a Recipient Rights complaint any time if you think staff violated your rights. You can make a rights complaint either orally or in writing.
